FOR THOSE OF YOU WHO THINK…….
for those of you………who have ever wondered… how do you do it all? how does she do it? where does she find the time?
HOW*DO*YOU*DO*IT*ALL? BAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA…
I don’t!!! For starters school is out-SUMMER IS HERE!
(enter horrifying terror scream in horror movie here!)
YUP’ that’s right. Sooooo at 10:00 a.m. this morning when my oldest asked for popcorn and he didn’t like the answer wait until 11:00, he popped himself some for him and his toddler bro. When you see pictures of my home… TRUST me I cleared the area, situated it, positioned everything, and threw barbies across the room hoping they landed inside my daughters bedroom… just before I snapped away. Oh’ Yes’ you better believe I fine tune the canvas before I capture it. I mean why would I want to share the chaos that “REALLY is my life.” Seriously, I am typing this with my hair in a two day old oily pony tail.. MMMM-HMMM! When I create a craft or project…. just like the fine tuned home pics. I make sure I take “FLUFFED” pics. of the completed craft, and that everything sitting next to the craft looks just as fluffed and polished. Oh’ yeah and btw, keep in mind that generally I have shewed a kid out of the picture before taking it too, because said child was in a soggy diaper, had bed head, or was wearing miss-matched clothing. Oh’ and another thing, before fluffed pictures are taken..of the craft on the table, piano, hutch, and shelf… that lying below, on, or around, is more then likely a leaking juice, spilled fruit snacks, and/or a tornado of toys and legos scattered about. HEAVENS- please know that I generally don’t actually run into the kitchen and clean it just an “hour” before the hubs is coming home. (note I have been known to load the dishes as I am answering my husbands “I’m on my way home call!”) Mind you, a craft that is almost finished may come before my kids lunch, who have reminded me they are hungry probably more then once. I reply, with… grab another snack. NO’ I CERTAINLY don’t do it all! I don’t have it on the ball! my home, life, and kids, and myself are NOT perfect. I am me and I have many flaws in and outside the home and the crafty blog world. I, however, wouldn’t change my life and chaos for anything in the world. My family works perfectly with dysfunction.
“We are a perfectly perfect dysfunctional family!”
Faded stain marks on my carpet are reminders that my home is lived in and I have little children that love to quench their thirst from a batman sippie cup.
Its like Oprah said once on her show… “Its not the perfect Kodak picture of the family!” ITS NOT! No one knows what life is really like behind those four walls. I learn everyday to be a better mom, to prioritize just a bit more, and to not fret the small stuff.
Oh’ and I couldn’t leave without sharing a picture my hubs snapped of me….
BLOGGING-NO NURSING-
“NO’ NURSING WHILE BLOGGING!” OH’ YEAH!
i.e. OILY PONY TAIL, NO MAKEUP, UGLY BOTTLE THICK GLASSES! but HEY’ I AM A MOM DON’T WE MULTI- TASK?… NURSING WHILE BLOGGING WOOT WOOT! P.S. SPEAKING OF NOT being perfect, excuse my typos, punctuation errors, and grammatical miss-haps too.
LUV YOU ALL! winks-jen
Thank you so much for posting that pic! I can’t count the number of times the baby nursed while I blogged!
I too tune my canvas, no one needs to see my untuned canvas. No one. 🙂
Best post ever. 🙂 Still love your blog after all this time! Thanks for posting this Jen!
Oh my, I love your pic! They all think we have the perfect home, perfect kids and perfect life, right?! Hello, it’s all staged! So true! I won’t use a photo if I see mess in the background! Anyway, love this post! I can so relate!

Ok, that made me laugh, smile, say “preach it sister”, and realize that it is ok to not do it all!! thanks for being REAL!!!
I have blogged while nursing more than once in my baby’s first year LOL. Shh but once I even (when she was in the actually able to lay still phase) was able to sew while nursing. Baby was at a safe distance, if anything was at risk, it was my fingers LOL.
Totally sounds like my house, oily hair and all
Love it! My plan by presenting everything in the best possible light is not only to fool my blog readers, but also my children. When they’re grown and look back on the blog, they’ll only be able to see all the fun projects and happy faces. I’ll be able to tell them they must be mistaken if they recall dirty dishes, piles of laundry, sibling rivalries and an often-frazzled mom! 🙂
HaHa–love it. You know why I still haven’t posted final pictures of our kitchen remodel? Ever since we’ve been able to use it again, it’s been at least a little messy! 🙂
LOL, you are the multi-tasking queen! I wish I had blogging when my kids were nursing babies.
Love this!!!
You’re awesome!! Oily hair and all!
This made me smile…because real is better than anything. Someone once asked how my house was so clean…I said you should see the pile behind me…I move the crap out of the way first!
I love it! I’m not the only one who has a dinning room table full of 5 different crafts and screaming kids running around the house. Love the post. Thanks for the reality check.

adorable! and yes, I am so glad I don’t have pics of me at my desk at home with the greasy hair, pj’s and a pile of laundry blocking out the sun!
You crack me up! Thanks for setting the record straight and making me feel so much better about my chaos!!
This has to be one of my all time favorite posts! I love the honesty =) thank you for sharing that you don’t completely have it together — that means there is hope for the rest of us =)
You hit the nail on the head with all of it! Love the pic of nursing while blogging 🙂
Love it!!! 🙂
I soooo needed to read this. I swore I was the only one with guilt ridden feelings while I craft or blog and kinda tell my kids ‘hold on’ or ‘just a sec’. Not always but sometimes. I LOVE your honesty here.
Pretty much confirms why I gave you a Lovely Blog Award: http://retrohipmama.wordpress.com/2011/06/09/and-the-lovely-blog-awards-go-to/

To say the least this Grt Grandma aint nursin while blogin. My apatment is my studio(ish). All those in the bulding believe me to be a “slob that crafts”. They all have apartments that I dirty by entering. I don’t judge them .. but wonder .. what do they do all day. Thanks for the reassuring words. G Grams
That is so funny. The chaos of a home is totally familiar to me. Five kids scattered from age 6 to 24, 3 giant breed dogs, a husband, and every situation seems to arise on a daily basis. And the way we seem to “make it work” – hilarious to someone who doesn’t live it, chaos for us but somehow the memories we just don’t ever want to let go. Enjoy them all.
I love your blog! And as I came upon the picture of your nursing while blogging, I had to laugh! I was nursing my little man while catching up on your blog! Glad to know that I am not the only one who does it!
LOVE THIS POST!! Nursing my baby girl right now as I type this!! I knew I couldn’t be the only one!!
I think this might be my fave post of yours ever! It is sooooo true. None of us are perfect but it sure is comforting to have others confirm it for you.

This sure does sound familiar! Thanks for sharing what’s behind the “fluff”… it’s so nice to know that I’m not the only one!
