What Color Should You Paint the Inside of Your Home

When you are moving into a new home, or you want to paint the home that you are currently living in, you might be looking at the list of paint colors and not know which one to pick, especially if you have never painted a room before. You might not know which color should go in which room, and you might not know which shade is better than all of the others.

The best way to pick the perfect color for any room is to decide what mood you are looking for. In this case, we are looking for calm and relaxing energies. These are the colors you should look for when you are painting the rooms in your home for relaxing energy.

A neutral blue

A good and neutral blue color can work in many rooms throughout your home. While the word blue is usually described as an emotion for people who are upset, the color itself is very soothing and calming for many reasons.

It is very easy on the eyes, it reminds people of the sky and of the ocean, and depending on the shade of blue that you choose, it can be placed into a baby’s nursery, an adult’s bedroom, or even the main room in the house where everyone sits around to talk about their day.

You can put blue almost anywhere and you can combine the color with almost anything.

If you wanted to redo your bedroom, you can paint the walls a good neutral blue shade and pick out a brand new bed and bed set to match. Though, you should probably find out how big is a king sized bed before taking that deep dive into redoing your entire bedroom.

A light purple

A light purple that could be considered lavender or violet is also very good for keeping the mood very light and comfortable. These shades of purple are usually placed in the living room or the bedroom.

But depending on how you want to decorate your home, you don’t have to feel forced to stick to a solid violet or lavender. You can mix this color with white and create a space that has two colors on the walls.

As long as you are creating a cute and relaxing pattern, or you are separating the colors to appear on one wall rather than both white and purple being on the same wall, then you have free roam to mix white and purple all you want in your home.

A neutral gray

A gray color can be perfect for the main room in your home. It is just neutral enough to not be super noticeable, and it isn’t harsh on the eyes or boring either.

With a nice neutral grey, you get to have something that is calming and relaxing, easy to decorate around as every color matches perfectly with grey, and it isn’t a plain white color that can be a little bright in the morning.

Not a lot of people know that grey can be a mood changer when you choose it to be the main color in one of your rooms.

But it can be. If you find that you have a lot of stress and anxiety in your life, paint a room grey and sit inside of that room from time to time when you are feeling overworked and overwhelmed. You will notice a difference with time.

A light brown

If you like to keep your home aesthetic more natural and you like to have simple earth colors around your home, you can still have a calming evening. Paint your walls a light, almost tan, brown.

This will give you the natural aesthetic that you want and you will get a nice relaxing color to come home to. This color is best in the living room or the dining room, but you can put it in your bedroom if that is something that you want to do.

It also works very well in an office space. If you have an office in your home, you can paint the walls tan and you will notice a large increase in the amount of work that you get done.
