Home Decor with a simple DIY piano top runner

I love freshening up spaces, and/or changing out stuff. I made a simple table runner for the top of my piano. I just cut some fabric to size, then I pinned it and sewed. I got my fabric from fabric.com. Now I am no seamstress so I don’t believe I would do good at any kind of a tutorial. Not yet anyway.  I will say however, that everything I sewed was a simple straight stitch. Whether I folded a piece over or under, it was all a straight stitch. If I can sew a straight stitch you all can too.
Here are some pictures of my piano table top with  my new table runner and my new stained and painted Cut It Out frame.
The cut it out frame I painted first with a dark wood stain. Then I lightly painted over it with a white acrylic paint. Once it was all dry, I sanded the edges where I wanted, and lastly cut some fabric that I hot glued to the back for hanging on the old window.
Simple straight stitched and folded and overlapped table/piano top runner.

Its fun adding in new pieces, whether made or bought. I love playing house! HE!

  1. I always love to see how you decorate around your piano. It is such a difficult piece for me to work around. Thanks for the inspiration!
