*Star* {{Cupcake Liner Topiary}}

Well I had to keep with my Cupcake Liner Topiary Love, (you can see my valentine & halloween one on the right side of my blog.) and make myself a ….

“STAR cupcake liner Topiary”

I used my cricut to cut out a 51/2 inch star on thick card stock.
Then I traced the star on a thick piece of rectangular styrofoam using a crayon.
Then with a steak knife I cut out the star.
Then I used a pack of white cupcake liners and one by one hot glued them onto the styrofoam. I used a dowel to place the cupcake liners over, where I then add a dab of hot glue onto the cupcake liner. This technique makes it easier to place the cupcake liner onto the styrofoam and not burn your finger.
After the front of the star was covered (you can cover all of it just buy more liners) I then used red and navy acrylic paint and dabbed paint on the tip tops of the cupcake liners with a foam brush. Giving the look of “Red White & Blue” Lastly I added a thick dowel, distressed it with distress ink, painted a clay pot white and distressed it, and added some fun ribbon around the dowel.

  1. I love this so much. I paid homage to you and this craft this morning. If you are not okay with that, please let me know and I will remove the post. This is so totally cool!

  2. Girl, you made those headbands look easy and I am struggling! I am using strips of satin for the first one…whew! Gonna head out to the craft store for some ribbon for the next one! “See” you Friday!
