Just a Little hello and thoughts…

HELLO TO ALL YOU FAB. FOLLOWERS, TRULY FAB.
ok’ I never want my blog to be depressing, a drag, or a place of sadness. I want you all to have an enjoyable visit. However, it is my blog right? MMM-HMMM, so I just had to say that I am feeling really down in the pooper… Not entirely sure what from and why a combination of many things. I have felt this way for the past 4 days.. blah. Funny thing is my hubby once said that if you want to feel better about your life “Delete your FB account!” HA! NEEDLESS, to say he is right and I go on there every day and there are things that make me feel less then others or depressed. This isn’t the reason, but it certainly hasn’t helped. I won’t delete my FB account because I have tons of family on FB. Anyway, all these feelings inside combined with getting on my blog and seeing that I lost some followers…… I know, I know, I have plenty of followers, so I am not ungrateful for those who do follow me… IN FACT I AM THRILLED, FILLED WITH JOY, AND TICKLED you love COM. However, it feels almost like a break up do you agree?…. I think what did I do? did I say something? do something? what? I really question why??? someone or “some” would stop following me. I know this happens to all of us and I am not alone. but its a bummer. I will keep on keepin on, and that’s all. Off to eat some Chips Ah’ Hoy Cookies with my sis… and chat.
p.s. i promise you its not postpartum. promise.

  1. Cheer up, Charlie! 🙂 (I always say that, so don’t take offense that your name’s not really Charlie)

I know how you feel, I’ve been in a depressive funk for the past week or so, too. Not sure what’s going on, but I HATE it!! Boo.

Just know that the ones who aren’t following anymore are the ones missing out!! I, for one, look forward to your posts and love hearing your ideas! Keep up the AMAZING work!! You are awesome.

  2. Could be worse… I have been blogging for over a year, posts comments to over 200 blogs, and have 9 followers… things can be way worse…

  3. I find it so odd…I’ll get on and have 996 feed burner readers and then the next morning drops to 987. Why does it do that??

Keep doing what you’re doing….your blog is amazing!! Don’t be discouraged!

My husband is SO grateful for all of your holiday decorating that trickles into our home! 🙂

  4. I’m sorry sweetie you’re feeling blue. It could be PPD, if it gets worse call your OB.

As for your blog followers, Blogger does have glitches where it says you have less followers than you originally had. It’s happened to me quite a bit. Keep your head up dollface. It will all be okay 🙂

JUST BREATHE!! One deep breath at a time.’

    ((hugs))

  5. I was thinking the same thing this morning. I lost a follower and it kind of bummed me at first. But, then I remember reading a post once (I think from Pioneer Woman) that said to not get discouraged when you make mistakes, have a bad day, someone disagrees with you or lose a follower. Just keep being you. So far you’re doing a great job! I don’t comment enough but I love your blog!

  6. I’ve heard some other bloggers say that they’ve lost followers in all the issues with Blogger. They HAVE had a lot of technical issues lately, and I guess that oneof them was randomly dropping followers.

  7. Hope you feel better. You may just be overwhelmed, but if it continues I would think about seeing your OB. Glad you can spend the evening w/ Cry and laugh.

Here is my theory on lost followers. You tell them in a giveaway to follow your blog to get an entry. Well, they follow to get that entry and then once the giveaway is over, the unfollow. that’s just my hunch. Don’t take it personally. I have said many times before I don’t follow anyone’s blogs, yet that doesn’t stop me from visiting their blog. It’s just a number.

I dislike people on facebook who use it as a forum to brag. The “I bought this, we are going here” type people. I don’t post that often anymore, yet I keep it to keep in touch with friends and family. I have deleted over 200 “friends” in the past year b/c of said braggers or the ones who don’t show an interest in my life or my kids. It really does help 😉 My dad got engaged last week, and I wanted to post something since i am “friends” with his fiance (dumb word) yet I was like, I don’t want everyone up in my business…therefore I didn’t. Facebook is a weird thing.

Anyway, shoot me an email if you’d like to vent. I got your back, LOL 🙂

  8. Sorry you are feeling blue- I understand! I find myself being more cheerful when my “stats” are up and a bit irritable when they are down. How can I let a little line dictate my attitude?! Sounds crazy when you really think about it, but it’s hard not to do!! The fact is, you have an amazing blog! 🙂

  9. Hang in there! It’s ok to feel how you feel. I’m only a new follower to your blog, but I want to share with you that I have stopped following blogs in the past – not because I didn’t enjoy them anymore, but because I became too overwhelmed by all the posts and blogs I was having to sift through. I also left a blog once because the writer became pregnant and started talking about baby stuff all the time, while i was dealing with my own grief over not having children. I still liked the blog, but just couldn’t cope. So you see, it’s often just circumstances in the other people’s lives that make them stop following you.

But again, you have every right to feel how you feel. So you enjoy those cookies and your sister and anything else you need to pick yourself up again.

  10. Another theory for the lost follower issue: your followers might have multiple google accounts that they follow you on (like a work account and a home account.) It’s possible that a decent group of your followers have closed one of their accounts but continue to follow you on the other.

Don’t feel too bummed about your stats, what matters most is if you are happy with your own successes!

  11. You still have over two thousand followers! Some people’s interest changes or every once in awhile I think people just clean up and keep what they are really reading. I know it’s hard not to take it personal when you lose a follower.

Hang in there and keep your head up!

  12. I just heard Kermit (yes, the frog) say something on TV: Maybe you don’t need the whole world to love you; maybe you just need one person. There’s a lot of truth to that! And it looks to me like you do have thousands that love you! I keep wondering why people stop by my blog and don’t follow. I’ve been at it for almost a month now and it is discouraging sometimes, so it helps to know someone at your level feels this way. Thanks for being so open. Sending love!

  13. Sorry you’re having a rough few days! I totally know the feeling. Facebook certainly can get you down, especially with all the people that like to show off. I’m just starting out blogging, hoping one day to be as awesome as you.
Spend some time with your sis, if it’s anything like when I get together with my sister then hopefully it will cheer you up 🙂

I wouldn’t worry with those people that left, lots of other people still think you’re awesome 🙂
    (Including me 🙂 )

  14. I go through that too! I agree that facebook makes me feel a little overwhelmed, intimidated, and depressed too. And that just my family! haha!! We love you and we LOVE your blog! Take some time out for yourself! And enjoy some of that ice cream for ME! xoxo!!!

  15. I’m sorry you lost followers:( sadness… Your right we have all lost some and wonder too. I had someone comment and say hey I’m your 100th follower then she came right back and said oh now I’m the 99th well when I read this I was down to 98! You just have to not take it personally! Now I’m up to 118:)

  16. I only have 13 followers and none of them are my family… I have a terrible family… I have tried and tried… but nope… no interest in my life. It can really bum you out when your own family doesn’t care. I LOVE your blog… I had two friends tell me I had good taste because I shared one of your posts on FB and they loved it. You are a rock star to me!! Here is my blog.. I am fairly new at it and haven’t figured it all out yet:

  17. I’ve been a follower for a long time and love your blog!! I was so happy when you featured my little blog! You’re a fabulous person and have a great place to visit every morning! Please don’t let the little things get you down and keep doing what you’re good at. I’ve had a few negative comments and was ready to just delete my whole blog, but Marni from Sassy Sites and my husband, convinced me not to. You’re awesome! Eat that ice cream and it will all be better tomorrow! Love you!

  18. I understand it is a bummer to lose a follower, it’s happened to me before, several times and I don’t have alot to spare anyways :/
I agree with Heatehr tho…keep an eye of your depressed mood if it continues,as it could be ppd.
I was also going to mention why someone may have unfollowed but, someone else already hit it so I won’t bore you with a repeat lol.
    Heads up chicky!!
We all adore you and look how many comments you get, that rocks!
I wish I could get at least 1 comment a post.I think thats why I dont blog as I often as I use to. I just don’t think anyones paying attention lol.

  19. Get out into the sunshine tomorrow, drink some OJ, and take a nap (not necessarily in that order!). You’ll soon shrug it off and remember its their loss, if it truly was a drop. We all go through the blues, not connected to the baby, and I know there is nothing anyone can really say to help shrug it off, but I find sun and healthy eating and sleeping all help!! xoxo

  20. OMG! Forgive me for smiling while you’re feeling sorrowful, but I totally went through the same thing a few months ago! I was devastated that I lost some followers! It really DID feel like a break up! I feel your pain! But rest assured, you rock! Your blog rocks! And those people who left you are craftless!

  21. I didn’t know I wasn’t a follower yet of your blog! So I quickly became one just now :)I love checking your blog everyday and seeing what amazing things you do. I honesty don’t know how you do it, plus be a mom of a newborn! You amaze me! And I love that you shared your feelings with all of us and what you’re going through right now. All of us get in a funk sometimes and then we get out of it and move on and it’s OK! Happens to the best of us 🙂 I suggest if you haven’t seen the movie 17 Miracles yet, you should go see it! It’s so amazing and inspiring and might help you feel better :)I know it did that for me! You’re amazing and an inspiration to us all 🙂

  22. Sorry you’re down. The hormones can certainly mess things up in this department after giving birth. That may will be a strong contributing factor as others have pointed out.

I realized that I have you on my rss but wasn’t listed as a follower. Fixed that!

  23. I take it pretty personal when I get an email that someone has unsubscribed from my blog. I think what did I do? What did I say?

While I understand that my readers are super important, it is my space to share the things I want to share. Afterall, I pay for the shelf in cyberspace that my blog sits on. 🙂

I have found that I might get 3-5 unsubscribers in a week after a giveaway ends and the winner is announced. Sometimes ppl unsubscribe because they are moving to a reader instead of emails…

Anyway, keep on keeping on. You rock!

And by the way, Facebook is the biggest misconception of reality! Really. Maybe someone bought a new boat, but they likely do not share that they are living pay check to pay check. (Just an example!)
