Guest Post- A Glimpse Inside.
My name is Allison and I blog over at A Glimpse Inside.
I need something for my shutters and I previously made some flowers out of the tubes so I thought “Why not make a few more and make a garland out of it?” So that’s what I did!
Supplies:
-Toilet paper/Paper Towel tubes
-Hot Glue gun
-Acrylic paint
-Ruler
-Ribbon
How to:
To start, press the tube flat.
(Sorry, this photo rotated and I can’t fix it!)
Take your ruler and mark every half inch down the entire tube. Mark on each edge.
Then, I find it easiest to group them together for each flower. So groups of 5 and 6.
Paint the groups that colors of your choice.
Start painting on the inside and then paint the outside.
Once your pieces are dry, it’s time to create the flowers.
I like to dry fit the flowers together before I glue.
Then, put a little bit of glue on one end and sandwich the pieces together.
And here is my 6 petal flower.
I strung them up on sheer green ribbon, weaving in and out of two of the petals.
Space them out how you like and tied them up onto my shutters.
Now I just need to determine what I want to make for my center shutter for spring!
Thank you so much Jen for letting me come over to your neck of the bloggy woods and share my flower garland! I appreciate it! 🙂
