Glazed Old Window = LOVE!
I found a fairly large OLD old WINDOW at an antique store over the weekend. $15.00 BUCKS! I love it. It screams SPRING TIME, AND I can’t wait to decorate for EASTER! YEP’ EASTER!
I did two different green paints to start. I actually did two separate green glazes. To do the glaze its simple, you just add a bit of water to the acrylic paint. Then you brush on wipe off with paper towels. Well it was just way to green for me, MORE SO in person. So I DID A white glaze and muted the color down a bit. Make sure you tape around glass first, getting the tape close to wood. Then I went ahead and painted the frame. I wiped harder in certain areas so more white paint would come off.
like you see here.
I used a large cut piece of green tulle (thanks Julie) to tie around the twig wreath. I hammered a nail in the top of the frame and pierced the tulle over the nail.
as you will see, I took some pics. inside as well as out, it was hard with glass and reflections. I cut thin strips of white fabric and rolled them into rosettes then hot glued them to the twig wreath.
did i mention that I AM READY FOR SPRING? For now my frame sits on a ledge in my room. Its the same colors as my SHABBY LOVE NEST! However, it may grace my entry table for an Easter vignette.
Thanks for stopping by.
