So… tell me…

My sister whom I adore, and I were talking this morning on the phone about Halloween Trick or Treating… then it led to the worst CANDY WE ever got in our trick or treat bags. So I thought it would be fun to play a game. I would LOVE to hear from all of you, what was the WORST candy or THING eek.. that you got in your trick or treat bag when you were little? this will be so fun.
both MY SIS AND I agreed that we hated the chewy Peanut butter taffy’s EWWW. My sis got left over foil wrapped christmas candy from an old lady one year when she was little. The worst thing I ever got was a bruised apple.
SO PLEASE LETS ALL SHARE-
AHHHHH’ whats in your bag? (Really can anything be more scary then this pic. of my sis and I, who needs a scary mask… ha ha!)

  1. I can’t remember that far back! LOL But one year I got really hard gum and I bit down on it and it popped my front brace off my tooth, not fun.

  2. Tootsie Rolls. A few wouldn’t be the worst but there was a guy a few houses up from us with a super long driveway and by the time we got to the top he would give each of us one. tiny. Tootsie roll. So not worth the walk!

  3. As a kid I always hated getting those little pineapple goo centered hard candies. Old people (and dr’s offices) seem to still give them out.

BUT, the kids and I were talking last night about this very thing. Last year we were trick or treating in our neighborhood and someone (no joke) gave my kids samples of hamburger helper. You know, the single serve stuff. But really, for halloween? They mentioned they hoped they didn’t get that this year.

  4. Growing up we lived down the street from a dentist! He always gave out a free tooth brush and one of those mini tooth paste rolls with a business card! The parents really got a good laugh but we were not too happy that hit that house! 🙂

  5. I grew up on the peanut butter taffy in my mom’s little glass pumpkin, so I like those and candy corn:) I am alone in my love, I know.

I hated getting rock hard Now and Laters. I never really cared for the candy in the first place, but add that they are trying to crack a tooth… no thank you!

    and finally RAISINS!
It is bad enough that I already have to pick each little disgusting morsel out of my trail mix, but last year my two year old got three boxes. He practically turned them into bullets with how quickly he spit them out.

  6. We lived in the country, so we had to drive to houses to trick or treat. And we only went to my parents friends homes. EVERY.YEAR – same house gave us apples. And every. year. out of the bed of the truck we would throw the apples down the side of the road! 🙂

  7. I agree, those peanut butter things are gross. I also hate Mary janes and stupid Dots candy ick!! I used to get a ton of those. Also one year someone gave me a beautiful homemade caramel apple, I was so excited to eat it, but my mom wouldn’t let me eat it, cause ‘it could have been poisoned’ Lame, mom!

  8. ha ha ha a can of coke!!! I thought if you ran out of candy you give out dollar bills (or pennys). I hated hard candy!, the lemon, peppermint, orange, yuck

  9. i hated tootsie rolls when i was little. i still do. i just gave them to my mom. the worst thing i ever got though was a box of raisins. top top the horrlbleness of the raisins off, they were from MY GRANDMA!!!!!! you would think a grandmother would have something speical for their own grandchild!!!

  10. I never liked red hots or those hard lemon candies. What I really can’t stand are the edible wax lips. Sure they are funny, but they taste awful. Plus they aren’t durable enough to play with for more than 5 minutes.

These days the worst candy are Reeses (anything Reesses). My oldest son has a peanut allergy, so half of his trick or treating candy has to be given away to my husband’s co-workers asap.

  11. My first thought was PENNIES but then I thought “yea your OLD no one does that anymore” BUT I see I am not the only one. I HATED hard candy. Last year we were NEW to PHX and we took our then 1 year old daughter trick or treating at the Phoenix Zoo. It was nice until we started to notice that it was all HEALTHY stuff. Now, like I said she was only 1 so we TOTALLY intended on eating a LARGE majority of her candy and it was all Horken Fiber Chuncks Cereal Bars (totally stole that one from Dennis Leary) In fact my hubs and brother both ate one and they said it tasty like sand and dirt! BOOOO >:(

  12. Carmel Apple. I’m sure I’m the ONLY person in the world who doesn’t like them. But worse than receiving them, is when they throw it in your bag…unwrapped. Me=not a happy trick or treater that year!

  13. I went trick or treating at our mall one year and the fast food restaurant ran out of candy and instead, gave out KETCHUP PACKETS!!! It literally made me sick even though I am a huge ketchup fan…just not as a candy substitute!!!
