Lego Party Success!
HI GUYS- now that my sons birthday is out of the way, I hope to get back to my regular crafting. 😉
PLEASE don’t laugh at my LEGO cakes! I am almost embarrassed to show them on my craft blog! So NO’ they aren’t Ace of Cakes-cakes nor are they from a professional bakery. Not to mention I don’t do fondant either, nor do I know how. They are from Ma’s Kitchen and my hubby and son both were tickled over them. So….pat on my back that is all that matters to me. The cakes were baked in bread bans, and then I cut off the tops with a bread knife to make them flat. The yellow one I made smaller. I frosted two stacked double stuffed oreos to look like the lego pegs, then I placed them in the fridge for two hours to harden. After the cakes were cooled and the vanilla frosting was dyed I frosted the cakes, and finished by placing the oreo pegs on top. We had a nice dinner, then presents, then cake and ice cream, visits, laughter, and playing time with fun {new} toys. It was a family party with very important people we love.
THANKS FOR STOPPING BY!
Aww! It looks like a great party… and I love your lego cakes… no laughling at all.
I think the cakes look just fine! Very creative! I wouldnt have thought to use oreos! And I wouldnt laugh because cakes are not my forte! 🙂
I think your lego cakes turned out fabulous! I love it! I decorated a graduation cake for my brother once and it was like the most embarrassing thing I have ever had my name to. My family still laughs about it to this day. It builds character. 🙂 But your cakes are no laughing matter. CREATIVE with the oreos!
Your cakes are so cool! I would have done them the same way (fondant doesn’t taste good anyway!) You should share this with Gina at Moneywise Moms (moneywisemoms.com) She’s doing a whole week of Lego posts.

sometimes those ‘pats on the back’ are all that matter about anything 🙂
The cakes look amazing & great pictures of the birthday boy!
Looks great! Love the balloons hanging down.
Cute Party! I love how you made the BUILD hanging from your light. So cute. I used Frozer Ding Dongs on the cake for the circles. Oreo’s would have been tasted better to me! Great job!! Oh and no cake is better than those bake in MA’s Kitchen.
Great job! Everything is perfect! Glad he had a great birthday!
I love the lego cakes!
I am featuring your Frankenstien pops tomorrow on my blog. They are awesome:)
