DIY Yarn Ball Pumpkin Wreath
Hey guys! I am Kathie from Krafty Kat. I am so glad to be here at Craft-O-Maniac today! I want to share with you a fall craft that has my 3 favorite things: It’s cute, it’s easy, & it’s cheap!
It’s a yarn pumpkin fall wreath.
It really is so easy to make. You will need the following items:
-
A roll of orange yarn
-
A dollar store grapevine wreath (or whatever wreath form you would like)
-
A big bag of cotton balls
-
A bunch of little twigs
-
Hot Glue Gun
This is a great craft to do while catching up on the latest episode of Honey Boo Boo Child or whatever it is you like to watch! It does take a little while to make enough pumpkins (est. 100+) but not lots of skill. You just wrap yarn around each cotton ball, making sure to completely cover the cotton.
Cut the yarn and then tuck the end under. Repeat until you have either ran out of yarn or cotton balls. I purposely made some pumpkins bigger and some smaller but you could try to keep them all uniform shape/size.
You can add the stems either before gluing the pumpkins to the wreath or after but if I did it again, I would just wait until after so that I can place them exactly where I want. When I added the stems first, some of them came out and had to be put back on. Since I used a grapevine wreath, it is not a super perfect circle. There are uneven places but I think that just adds to the whimsical look. There are three rows of pumpkins throughout.
I am just CRAZY about my new fall wreath! I love the cute little pumpkins and I can keep it up all fall until Thanksgiving!
Jen is awesome for letting me share my wreath with you at COM and I hope you’ll visit me at Krafty Kat for more fall craft ideas!
