Grandma’s Homemade Rolls
When Kevin and I got married, my mil put together a lovely recipe book for me, I treasure and use it to this very day. Among all the tasty mouth watering recipes, she shared with me…. the one that we love along side our Roast Beef, Turkey, or Ham dinners… is “Grandma Larsen’s Rolls” I have taken out Larsen and just named them “Grandmas’s Homemade Rolls.”
I am sure there are many of us that think our Granny makes the best rolls. I can honestly say my mom is one of them. MY KIDS love their grandmas rolls.
I hope these rolls find themselves dressing your table for your next meal or holiday dinner. Your belly’s will love them and they certainly will not disappoint.
RECIPE:
Dissolve 1 envelope of yeast in 1/4 c. of warm water with 1/2 tsp. of sugar.
Beat 1 egg & set aside. Mix together 1/4 c. of sugar, 1/4 c. of butter, 2 tsp. of salt, 1/2 c. of dry powdered milk & 1 c. boiling water.
Add in the egg.
Add enough flour to make a sticky dough.
Stir in softened yeast mixture, add a little more flour to make a very soft dough.
Let rise until doubled. Spoon out onto floured board/counter. Roll out and cut dough with round cutter (or the top of a glass will do) Form into round ball and place on a greased cookie sheet.
Let rise again until plump and airy looking.
Bake @ 425 for 12-15 mins. Lastly brush tops with melted butter.
they are so good you can’t just have “3” winks.
ENJOY!
