You’re My Sweetheart- Song Lyric Painted Board

Hello there-

I have been busy working on some fun Valentine Crafts. One craft I really wanted to make was a “Song Lyric Painted Board” I love this song called “Ho Hey” by the Lumineers. I crank it up whenever it comes on. I also had hubby download it on my phone, so I can listen to it all the time. My daughter sure loves the song too. So, I new I wanted to make a sign with my favorite chorus from the song. “I belong with you you belong with me you’re my sweetheart” LOVE IT!

HOW TO:
I took a board I had from my garage aka from Lowes it was cut down to 9 inches by 271/2 inches. I started by painting my entire board “Habarnero Red” high gloss paint by Martha Stewart. I then used some vinyl and cut out all my words from my Cricut. I measured and used a ruler to help me with the straightness (still not perfect-blah) of the words and then rubbed them on. I then used Martha Stewart satin acrylic paint in “Wedding Cake” to paint over the vinyl words. I added a red stripe to the bottom, and once the board was dry, I peeled off all the letters. I sanded the entire board really well, over the letters and sides too. I took some small wood hearts I had and painted them Martha Stewart acrylic paint called “Love Birds” and then hot glued the hearts to the board where I wanted them.

… and here it is.

Thank you oodles for stopping in today. Happy Crafting!
