DIY Embellished Dollar Bird House Ornaments

My mama came over this past weekend, and BOY’ did we have fun. We talked, and did some cheap fun shopping at JoAnn’s and Big Lots. JoAnn’s had some super cute birdhouse ornaments, but they were $8.99 up to $14.99 and not on sale. I was having a fit over some of them, and really wanting them. Then my ma said we can make some.. and make them even CUTER!… I SAID OH’ HECK’ YA, we can, LETS DO IT!

So we picked out “3” $1.00 dollar un-finished birdhouses and a couple clearance twigs, and berries to help embellish them. The paint and other items we needed or used I had at home. My mom and I had lunch, visited some more and then headed back to my place to get crafting. DID I say I LOVE MY MOM! I do, soooo much. GOOD TIMES!

OK’ so here are the AFTER pictures of our
Bird House Ornaments.
I apologize we got right to work and I didn’t take any before’s, but just imagine
plain un-finished boring wood
to
FABULOUSNESS!
every bird I think would line up to move in-HA!

I love them.

These are now on my tree.

I think next year..

I am going to do more

bird houses

white bulbs

birds

and lots of

branches stuck in the tree.

LOVE IT!

Thanks for stopping in.

  1. Love these! I’m with you – seriously thinking of doing a more rustic/nature themed tree next year. I’ve already got the birds this year!

    1. I used acrylic paints and then glitter glue and some glitter acrylic paints too. Then simply hot glue on some favorite things. Its really pretty easy. Hugs, jen
