Decorating with Bead Board and a New Lamp

Hello there- OK’ I am hoping I am not the only one that is constantly moving, changing, adding, fluffing, and reinventing the same space. Its amazing what a difference just adding a new pillow, chair, frame, or lamp can do to the same space.

I found a cute $7.00 dollar yellow lamp at one of my favorite antique shops in my local town. It had no shade with it, so I bought the shade at Target. Then last week I went down to Lowe’s to spend my $25.00 dollar gift card I WON “WOOP” at the Lowe’s meet and greet at evo 12. So I picked up some $10.89 bead board and had them cut off about 5 inches on the one side. I intended on the bead board being used on something else (still to come) but I thought it would make a great accent piece to my piano top and behind my glass window. I do love it on my piano, and I think it really adds more texture and dimension.

I love DECORATING WITH COLOR! I realize everyone is different and some do not like color or decorating with it, and that is totally OK. You do what makes you happy and what makes you LOVE your space all the more. For me, I say bring on the color!

Today I am sharing with you all- my same space…. but with a new added lamp and table and some added bead board to my piano top.

and HERE I CHANGED IT “already” FROM THE chalk board I wasn’t digging to a pennant. The pennants are from Canvas Corp. I just hot glued some black ribbon across and hung it up with some nails.

so here it is for now.. I will be changing it around for the Holidays. winks!
Thanks for stopping by and HAPPY FUN DECORATING!

  1. I love color in small doses against a neutral background. I am just working on adding those pops of color, without turning my house into a kaleidoscope 😉 I also really love the idea of a beadboard panel as a background! I know my hubby has a couple scrap panels stashed around here somewhere… now I think I need to go hunt them up! 🙂

  2. All of our walls are beige and have been since we moved in, so we definitely decorate with color. 🙂 My living room palette is similar to yours except where you have green I have red. Just recently added some teal/turquoise-y curtains to accent our red couch and pops of yellow. I’m loving it. 🙂
