Vintage Halloween Box

hello WONDERFUL PEEPS~ here is MY {VINTAGE} Halloween BOX transformation.

I saw this scrap paper at Roberts Crafts way back in May, and grabbed it because I LOVED IT! I new I WOULD make something with it around Fall.

BEFORE~ I FOUND This box a few weeks ago at Desert Industries for $1.00 dollar original tag $6.99. I am on this BOX KICK YOU KNOW… 😉

HERE IS WHAT I DID~ I started by painting the box all with Acrylic Paint~ base- dark brown with a glaze made of vintage white mixed with water that you rub on with a paper towel and rub off. Lid~ orange mixed with brown and vintage white, and the same vintage white glaze over it.

TIP~ for a more old vintage look, I opened my scissors and ran them along the outside edges of the paper CAREFULLY fraying them and tearing them a tiny bit. LOVE THIS look!

I then used my mod podge, (it is the lustre one and I WANTED the dry dull look) to the backs of the card paper and layed them on the box and smoothed them out with my hand.

DONE~ with the painted glazed frayed cards and mod podged on!

and another~ MY SIS IS FAB. SHE loved it (as did my mom but she watched me make them) she thought I BOUGHT IT! HE!

ONE MORE!

AND FINALLY~ I made two bows for the top, I used distress ink for the creme polka ribbon and distressed the ribbon. Then looped and pinned with a safety pin, then made the other bow and pinned it too. I then hot glued them on and together and hot glued the button on the top.

AFTER~ AND THERE YOU GO!

THANKS SO SO SO MUCH FOR STOPPING IN.
